Even though Xanga is dying, I think I'll keep my blog. I frequently refer back to it when I scrapbook, something I don't think I can do with Face Book.

We are having lovely weather, so Tony and I went to the Carlsbad Street Fair today. Afterwards, we stopped by the fairgrounds to watch the competition for hunters and jumpers. They were poetry in motion to watch.

We babysat Jaiden on Wednesday. She was adorable and loved her bubble bath. She did not, however, love her bedtime. She screamed so much that the made herself throw up! Here's the Bubble Bath girl:

Saturday morning, I went to minyan. This week's Torah portion was "Lech Lecha" in Genesis. It's the part where God tells Abraham to go to a new land. Debbie Friedman set it to music, and we sang it at the conclusion of services. I can't help thinking that maybe it is prophetic: ". . .to a land that I will show you, to a place you do not know, on your journey I will bless you." Hmmm. . .

Saturday afternoon, we went over to Brian and Kelila's to photograph our little princess. Here are the results:

It's interesting. . .when I post an entry or photos on Xanga, I rarely get comments; however when I post on Face Book, I always do. Is Xanga dying?

Anyway, since it's Thursday, it's time for

THANKFUL THURSDAY
Random things I'm thankful for:
Our wonderful time in VIrginia with all the beautiful scenery
Great friends who schlepped us all over
Our safe return
Jaiden's laughter
That we have cable and internet tonight so I could post this (and Farm)

Greetings from Virginia!

We are having a wonderful time; the weather has been crisp and the turning trees GORGEOUS! We have driven by charming houses with a bit of land that range from $180,000 to $270,000. Incredible! Yesterday we drove to Lebanon, Abingdon and Bristol. We did a bit of shopping and even had Mexican food for dinner. Robin and I hung out today and went to a batik fabric shop and a small scrapbook store in Wythville, while Tony and Jesse explored. Tomorrow Tony is going to take me on the same route he drove today and we may check out a manufactured home site. (Just trying to cover all our options.) We had Indian food for dinner tonight - in West Virginia - so naturally, I have to stay up late. . .but it was worth it!

Here are five of Tony's edits of the more than 200 photos he's already taken:

Greetings from Huntersville NC!
We were up before the crack of dawn this morning to catch a flight to Charlotte by way of Minneapolis. The line to go through security was humungous; one of the security people kept asking if anyone was "departuring" in the next 15 minutes! We had two good - but long, flights. Tony was too tired to make the 3-1/2 hour drive, so we found a hotel and had a late dinner. I'm waiting for it to settle before I go to bed; Tony crashed almost an hour ago.

Tomorrow, we should be in Tazewell VA for lunch. In addition to seeing all the fall foliage, we are also going to check out potential neighborhoods. We'll probably do the same thing in Austin TX in May. Fortunately, we don't HAVE to move, but our quality of life - other than weather-wise - would be greatly improved by moving out out of state.

The weather is cool here, a pleasant change from the high 80's we've been having; and we may have snow in Tazewell. Everything is still green with a smattering of reds and golds here and there. I'll try to post photos as we go along.

Unfortunately, while I have been very busy, I am still under the weather. I had two very good meetings this week - one with SD Shakespeare Society and one with DonateLife. New ideas were discussed and both were very exciting. Friday, I went to Ontario for a scrap book exposition and took 3 incredible classes. I raced home in time to join Tony, Brian and Kelila for an Indian dinner before we took Jaiden to Disney on Ice. Tony carried Jaiden into the Sports Arena; when she saw the set, she said, "Wow!" For the most part, the show kept her riveted. She bounced between Tony and Alisa's lap for the first act and was mesmerized Cinderella in the second, standing on the railing to watch. About 75% of the little girls were wearing princess dresses; Jaiden was not exception in her Snow White costume. At intermission, another princess stopped, looked at Jaiden and said, "Adorable!" We cracked up!
